THE GOD ASLEEP

*1 Kings 18:27*


‘’ About noontime Elijah began mocking them, ‘’You’ll have to shout louder,” he scoffed, “for surely he is a god!


Perhaps he is daydreaming, or is relieving himself. Or maybe he is away on a trip, or *is asleep* and needs to be wakened!”


*T* here is trouble in the camp when a god is asleep. One of the most significant of the Ten Commandments is “thou shall have no other god but me.”


Our God is a jealous God. He never sleeps nor slumber (Psalm 121:4). Before you finish speaking the Lord has answered you. He says call unto me and I will show you great and mighty things. 


Our God is a revealer of mysteries. As Elijah prayed to God immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from Heaven. 


Our God answereth by fire. Alagbada ina 🔥He is the consuming fire! If our God had slept, you would have been consumed like the prophets of Baal. 


But for the Lord’s grace and mercy, you are not consumed. For His mercy endureth forever. 


*Action plan*:- Give God a shout, song of praise and dance your way into year 2021.


*My confession*:- Lord you have been so good to me.
